My Brilliant Filly Moonlight
My brilliant filly Moonlight D'Oro just won her first stakes race -- it is also my first stakes win as an owner. She also won 10 qualifying points towards the Kentucky Oaks. She looked awesome today when she blew past the other horses as if they were standing still. This filly is going to have a great future is nothing goes wrong. I am so very proud of her!!!

Three Years is Way Too Long
I have been alone since 10 March 2018 when my mum died. I just cannot believe it is coming up on 3 years because that is too long!!! I wish I could go home to Heaven and I do believe I will since the Rapture could occur any day now -- that is the only thing keeping me going, God's promise to take his believers home soon.
I miss my mum so very much

HBO Documentary ABout War Dogs
Tonight I was watching a documentary about war dogs. It was very sad but the saddest part was the piece about this soldier named Dixon. He had been partnered with a dog named Mika until he was injured. She was then rehomed as a K-9 for the Desoto County SHeriff's Department in Mississippi where she was partnened with Deputy Leslie and was a member of his family for many years until her death in 2017. Apparently Dixon had been searching for her and found her on a website about a police dog competition. He called the Desoto County SD and the handler was quite willing to send photos of Mika but apparently Dixon started badgering the Leslie family and demanding the dog be returned to him until finally they cut off communication with him. Dixon should have just let it go after finding out the dog was doing well with her family but instead he gave no thought at all to her feelings and wanted to uproot her after she had been with Deputy Leslie and his family for a lot longer than she was with Dixon!!! He acted rather petulant and selfish.
I have been reading the comments on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter about this and those people who are commenting have NO clue what they are talking about and NO clue about working dogs!!! They are all castigating Deputy Leslie and his family and calling them ugly names. In my view, they Leslies were very nice to Dixon until they had finally had enough of his pestering and had to cut him off!!!
Dixon should have just kept Mika in his heart and moved on with his life as much as it hurt!!!

My boy Lane Way is being pointed to the Hollywood Derby on 28 November. He is such a good racehorse and tries his best every time out, even in his last race where he was given a horrible ride by Drayden van Dyke and finished third. I own him through MyRacehorse.com -- they won the Kentucky Derby this year with a horse named Authentic, who has the same sire as my horse Lane Way as well as my horse Lady Valentine and the new colt I have. Right now I have 7 horses with them and look forward to seeing all of them run.

Nothing New
Nothing really new is going on, just same old with this ridiculous mask mandate.
Two of my horses have raced and both finished second. I am very proud of them for doing so well.
At least I have plenty of things to keep me occupied unlike most of my neighbours who craved constant social interactions and complain how bored and hungry they are!!! Ancestry gave me a great deal for a 6 month subscription and I am currently working on one of my Italian lines -- very fascianting things to find!!!

WOW, has it really been 3 months since I last wrote a blog??? Time does really fly when one is in a locked down situation and not allowed to mingle with people unless it is absolutely necessary. Most of my neighbours were bored and constantly complained about it. I was not bored as I always had plenty to do -- genealogy, reading, watching my television.
I had a very nice birthday -- I turned 50 and was able to get myself some nice things!!! However, the day after my birthday was extremely sad because I lost both of my hamsters. I was expecting Tegan to go but not Vickie!!!
June is the first month since March where I had to pay rent. A lot of my neighbours complained about that too!!! Did they honestly expect the free rent to go on forever??? Some of these people in my building are pathetic -- always mooching for free stuff!!! Some of them are also extremely paranoid ninnies who fear anyone without a mask!!!
I have written my nephew out of my will as long as he continues to insist upon dating that little slut he insists he is on love with. I had to shut him out of my life because of it. He has disrespected me and the rest of his family by his actions and attitude. But there is always hope he will see the light!!!

Ardena Perkins
Ok as promised last time I am going to write about Ardena Perkins. She was a long time member of the West Helena, Arkansas congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She professed to be of their anointed class -- for anyone who does not know these are the particular Jehovah's Witnesses who claim to be going to Heaven while every other Jehovah's Witness will be staying on Earth in a Paradise. However, I think that Ardena intimidated and deluded everyone into believing her claim. She was a very haughty, arrogant female who had everyone in awe of her due to her dominant personality. When I was a little kid I too was in awe of her but as I grew up I began seeing her for what she truly was!!! She totally destroyed several Jehovah's Witness families and almost destroyed mine. She would flounce around the kingdom hall and assemblies with her minions -- she referred to them as her "posse". She hated my guts after I questioned her quite dubious claim to being one of the "anointed".
At their yearly service known as The Memorial she was the only who was counted by the elders when she partook of the bread and wine. However, there was quiet laughter when another woman, Mona Bruce, partook because everyone labelled her as "crazy". At least Mona was a nice and humble person, the total opposite of the haughty, arrogant racist known as Ardena Perkins!!!

The Memories I Have
I watched the two part documentary about the Jehovah's Witnesses and it opened up some memories. I am thinking that this will take up several blog posts as my memories are coming back but not in any particular order.
I was first exposed to the Jehovah's Witnesses when I was around 3 years old and we were still living in Memphis. Larry and Cindy Landry began studying with my mother. I really do not remember much yet but I do remember when the Landry's lived out by the Memphis International Airport -- we could watch the planes take off and land. I remember they had three sons -- Bruce, Paul and Todd -- and one daughter Cathy. Most of my memories center around Cathy and her actions. Cathy had a son out of wedlock -- the father was Gary Armour. The only thing I remember about him was when Cathy took me, but not her son Curtis, to his apartment -- he had a waterbed.
My mother moved back to West Helena in May 1974 and we lived with her parents for a time. Later on we rented an apartment owned by a doctor and my mother generously let Cathy and her son move in with us. Cathy took advantage of my mother's kindness and was abusive towards me when my mother was at work. I also remember Cathy and my mother holding little get-togethers and have friends over -- Earnice and her son Larry would come over to dance to the music on Soul Train. Also during this time my grandad would come by and take me to the basketball games at Phillips Community College, where he was a staff member. This was before he became abusive to us.
Later on, we all moved into a two-story Helena Housing Authority apartment. During this time are basically the only memories I actually have of my dad and his adopted father Emerson George dropping me off at home after a visit. Also during this time Cathy was dating one of the Donald brothers -- this may have been before the two congregations split to become Helena and West Helena congregations. Anyway, she would take me on her dates but I do not remember Curtis going on the dates. One of the dates was to the drive-in movies in Memphis -- the movie was about a monster in a recording studio (it may have been Phantom of the Paradise but I am not 100% sure of that).
Later on Cathy met and married David Vallun. They held the marriage ceremony at the Kingdom Hall in Memphis that we had originally started out going to. I was the flower girl. I remember the reception was also held in Memphis and when we went to leave, we found we had a flat tire. Dennis Williams, Barbara's brother changed it for us. Later on Cathy had two other kids.
Around the mid-1980s Cathy showed up again in our lives and once again took advantage of my mother. They started up a maid service together and Cathy totally screwed my mother over. My mother had to pay for everything and we were living in the projects while Cathy did not have to spend a dime of her money and lived in a very nice house in a very posh neighbourhood in West Helena!!!
Cathy now lives in Claremore and is acting like she is such a good person. Who knows, maybe she has changed but she is apparently still a Jehovah's Witness and refuses to speak to me.
Next time I may write about Ardena Perkins, who pretend to be one of the 144,000 and have everyone intimidated into believing her!!!

Thoughts on the Westminster Dog Show
The Westminster dog show has once again come and gone. And once again there was griping and moaning about the winner from those unknowledgeable armchair judges who thought that this was a dog popularity contest and that audience applause determined the winner. But the complaining was not nearly as bad as it was last year when some dogs had to be excused due to conflicts of interest with the particular judges. People who know nothing about dogs or dog shows really should not comment until they get more education on the subject. The judge can only evaluate what is in front of him on any particular day.
That being said let's move on. The Hound group is not my particular group but there were a couple of breeds that I did take a fancy to. The Afghan Hound was a nice dog. I have not seen an Afghan that good since Tryst of Grandeur showed many years ago. The Portuguese Podengo Pequeno is a really adorable dog and could be on my short list if I ever entertained getting another dog. I also looked with particular interest at the Treeing Walker Coonhound since my grandfather trained and hunted with that breed. My dad kept Dachshunds but that is not a breed I would consider due to the numerous back issues the dog can have due to it's body shape. The Whippet won the group and was a nice dog.
I took a nap during the Toy and Non-Sporting groups so I only saw a few of those dogs.
The Herding group was one of great interest to me since I used to train and handle German Shepherds, which are some of the best type dogs on the planet!!! The German Shepherd in the group was a brother to the Best In Show winner from 2017 but, while I did really like him, he just did not wow me like his sister Rumor did. I muted the tv whilst the Belgian dogs were on because the announcers always get it wrong. Every other registry in the world has them as one breed with four varieties (Groenendael, Malinois, Tervuren and Laekenois) but the AKC insists upon them being three separate breeds with the Laekenois not being officially recognized but does seem to be in the Miscellaneous group now. The Shetland Sheepdog won the Herding group.
The Sporting Group began night two and for the second year there was this little heart thief of a breed there -- the Nederlandse Kooikerhondje. I had the very first rescue of this breed in the USA. They are really great little dogs and I really would not mind having another one. I also looked with particular scrutiny at the Pointer -- not too bad but still not like Karlyn was. My girl Karlyn was very properly structured and is really a dog I wished I could have been able to get as a puppy, she was just that good and had the best tracking nose I had ever seen on a dog. The Golden Retriever was a really nice dog and a breed that would be on my short list if I wanted a big dog. The Irish Water Spaniel did not want to be examined and after two attempts by the judge to examine it, the dog had to be excused from the ring. I felt really bad for the handler because that is something I went through before because my dog just did not like the show ring -- I had people in Arkansas making nasty comments about me and my dog and they started a rumor that my dog tried to attack the judge, which was untrue because my dog just looked at the judge, who was acting extremely arrogant and pompous towards the dogs and my dog was not of the type to tolerate that behavior and intimidated the judge.
The Working Group included the Doberman, a breed I am definitely familiar with since my mum was heavily involved with this breed when I was growing up. I grew up knowing about such great dogs as Hotai Copper Tattoo and Marienburg Sun Hawk. The Doberman was a nice one and was a son of a previous group winning Doberman who just recently passed away. The Rottweiler was also a nice dog and was a huge change from previous ones that looked like barrels with legs.
The Terrier Group was the last main group before Best in Show. The Australian Terrier would be on my short list for another dog in the future. I had one as a kid and they are great little dogs. The Wire Fox Terrier won this group.
The Best in Show class is the last one that picks the winner of the entire show and there was a very good line-up. Naturally people are once again carping about the winner -- this year the Standard Poodle won. I saw one person on Twitter posting about how racist the judges were since a black dog never won -- I hope this person very quickly shut his stupid mouth since the Spoo was black!!! So far, the griping about the winner is nowhere near as bad as it was last year but people still need to get a clue about dog shows!!!

Certain Lifestyles
I used to enjoy watching Doctor Who but lately they have been using the show, as well as other shows such as Torchwood and even Sesame Street, to cram a certain lifestyle down people's throats and those who refuse to accept this or to speak out against it are labelled as "bigots" and accused of "hate crimes"!!! Those who speak out are also attacked and told that "God loves everyone" and "Jesus accepts all". Some even go so far as to make the claim that Jesus embraced this particular lifestyle.
While everyone has the free will to live as they desire, they must also realise that there are consequences that go along with whatever choice they make. Those who live in such a manner that violates God's laws will suffer such consequences unless they repent and change their lifestyle. Certain scriptures, such as Romans 1: 26-8; 1 Corinthians 6: 8-11; Leviticus 18: 22 and 20: 13, are completely dismissed. These scriptures refer to those who live such perverted lifestyles and what will happen to them if they refuse to repent from living such a debased, immoral life.
While God does love the sinner, he does NOT love the sin, especially when the sinner insists upon continuing living in their sin!!! It is God's wish that everyone repent and come to him but he knows that there will be those ones who are hard-hearted because they do not want to change. Since that is the case, one should not feel bad for their destruction as they made their decision -- which was to live as a servant of evil. My younger brother is one who lives such a lifestyle and he will pay the price. I love him, he is my baby brother, but I do not approve of his lifestyle and I certainly do not think he is the best type of role model for my nephews!!!
Choosing God was the best decision I could have made as I no longer feel the rage and hatred I used to have towards people. I am still a constant work in progress but I have a good, solid hope for the future.
To Be Continued...

I was having a very brief flash of a movie that I was taken to see when I was around 4 or 5. Cathy used to take me on some of her dates (for some reason I never remember her taking her son Curtis with us) and one was to the drive-in movie theater in Memphis. The only very brief flash I have about this particular movie was that it was about a monster in a recording studio. A couple of weeks ago one of the movie channels showed a movie called Phantom of the Paradise. This movie fits the time frame of being shown in theaters around the time I was 4 or 5. The premise is somewhat vaguely similar to Phantom of the Opera but not as good. Anyway, it does have scenes about a man and recording studio. I am not saying that this is 100% the movie I remember but it is entirely possible that it was the movie based on the time period and subject matter. I only wish I could remember more!!!
On another note -- it sickens me to see the worshipful reverence that people are displaying towards Kobe Bryant as if he were God or Jesus!!! They act like their personal world is ending!!! Get a clue people, he neither knew nor cared about you so stop being all mad with grief about it!!! It is pathetic, truly pathetic how people are acting towards some celebrity who could have cared less and certainly did not help people with their day to day lives!!!

Where One's Mind and Heart Is
I have not been able to post on my blog for a while because my computer was not really working but I hope that now I will be able to post more regularly.
Jack Van Impe went to Heaven last weekend but only a few people have taken notice of it and posted on social media however when Kobe Bryant was killed today in a helicopter crash, everyone, including religious people such as Jonathan Morris and others, made a HUGE deal out of it. I find it very shameful that people are so celebrity obsessed that they make virtual "gods" out of sports stars and celebrities, but that tells me exactly where their minds and hearts truly are!!! There is only one true way to get to Heaven and it is definitely NOT by following one's favourite celebrity and their every word!!!
It is not too late to embrace the truth in order to be able to go home to Heaven but time is quickly running out as events are happening and the Rapture could occur any day now. I was recently in a discussion with someone who is completely convinced that the Rapture will happen at the end of the Tribulation. That makes absolutely NO sense to me at all!!!

With a month left to go in 2019 I was thinking about my best and worst moments of the year.
My worst time of this year was in April when I was not able to walk. I have absolutely no idea exactly what happened but I suspect it was not entirely my knee that was the cause. When I was still in Memphis I was involved in an accident and I may have hurt my spine. All I know is in April I was not able to move or feel my leg much less walk on it. It took several months before I was comfortable walking on it. I remember the first time I tried to walk I nearly fell and almost gave up!!!
My best memory of 2019 is when my little sister brought her sons for a visit in July. I had met my oldest nephew right after he was born but had never met the other two boys. We went to the horst show that was going on at the fairgrounds here and had a good time. My sister is my dad's daughter. My dad also has a son who I also met when I got to visit them in Newport in 1998 right after my oldest nephew was born. My dad had another wife between my mother and theirs so I wonder if one day I am going to open up my ancestry matches and see another sibling. I already have a match to one of my dad's younger sisters from his mother -- Aunt Frankie -- but she refuses to have anything to do with any of us which is a shame. I have found some DNA matches between Aunt Frankie and both my Jordan and Hastings families so I am really wondering who Aunt Frankie's real father was!!!

Last night the resident's association for my apartment building had a murder mystery dinner. I did go to it but it was very poorly planned out!!!
It is so very sad that some people's idea of "research" is so slipshod that they accept errors as "facts" and refuse to see where they are wrong!!!
1. The Mayflower sailed in 1620 and NOT 1492 -- that was Columbus and his ships Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria!!!
2. Crazy Horse was NOT even REMOTELY associated with the Pilgrims!!!
3.The knowledge of DNA and photographs did not exist in 1620!!!
It was also offensive that some of the people at the dinner were pretending to be Indians and doing old stereotypical things such as saying "How" and the like!!!
It reminds me of when my American History professor at the University of Memphis was teaching that Paul McCartney and Elton John were members of Britain's House of Lords!!! It is even sadder that people think these people know what they are talking about and swallow these historical FALLACIES!!!
There is also a Thanksgiving meal for the residents today but I am not going to that as I really am not to interacting with my neighbours today and I made fried chicken as per my usual tradition!!!
I caught a couple of my neighbours lying to me last night as to why they blocked me on Facebook -- they said it was "accidental"!!! Yeah right. I tend to NOT believe that because blocking someone on Facebook requires more than just pressing the block button, one also has to confirm that they want to block that person. So anyway, I sent them a tersely written private message from my other account about it and they come darkening my door last night and all huffy and mad about the message and they try to make me feel like a bad person for calling them out on being two-faced and pretending to be my friend. Apparently they think I am stupid that I cannot figure out they are trying to manipulate me!!! Well, my Christmas card list is very short this year and grew even shorter when I marked their names off!!! Is it any wonder I have contempt and animosity for most of my neighbours???

The resident's association for my apartment building is holding a couple of events. Tonight they are holding what they are calling a murder mystery dinner although it seems more like a role-playing exercise to me. And tomorrow Pastor David is bring a Thanksgiving meal for the residents. I am not sure whether to go score the free meal or make friend chicken and fixings for myself. I really do not enjoy the holidays especially now that I am completely alone, having lost the only family I have!!! I have loads of relatives but no real family!!! The only gifts I will be getting are the ones I get for myself since no one else will arse themselves to get me anything!!! I really dislike the holiday season now more than ever!!!

A certain someone, Linda Sexton, posted very wrong information about my mother and her parents on ancestry and not only refused to take it down but also made the HUGE mistake of blocking me. However, I did get some joy in that department after I hunted her down and wrote her a letter about it. She had to be taught that I meant business when it comes to my mum and her parents and she removed my mother from her pedigree instead of merely correcting the wrong information.
Accuracy is extremely important when it comes to doing genealogy!!! Recently I have had to debunk several erroneous lineages that people meekly and sheeplike copied onto their own pedigrees without doing any research whatsoever.

My grandmother, Babe Ruth Mount, died 19 November 1979, when I was 9 years old. I cannot believe it has been 40 years -- I have been without her a lot longer than I was with her. I was her only grandchild from the only child she ever had -- my mum.
She was born in Jackson, Tennessee in 1925 to Luke Mount and Virginia Mae Newsom. She had an older sister named Doris.
In 1930, the Mounts moved to Union, Arkansas -- a small township near Newport in Jackson, County, where Luke supported his family by working as a collector in a general store.
By 1940 the Mounts were living in West Helena, Arkansas where Luke worked as a machinist at an auto body plant and Virginia was a general merchandise clerk.
In 1943 Ruth met and married a young Sergeant in the Army Air Corps whose name was Calvin Alexander Hastings II. In 1945 the only child that Ruth was ever to have was born -- my mum Janice LaRayne Hastings.
Ruth was a long time employee of The Beall Company in Helena, Arkansas. I can remember going to her place of work when I was very young. Sadly though, she had to resign when she developed cancer. She did not deserve the treatment that Calvin meted out to her after she became ill. Even though my mother did her best to shield me from seeing most of the abuse, I still witnessed some of it which is partially the reason why I really do not have too many memories from that time -- grandma was not the only person who was abused by Calvin!!!
It is extremely difficult to write this but I am the only one left who can -- the truth must finally come out!!!
Before grandma got sick I had such good times with my grandparents -- going on trips, my grandad taking me to games and flying in his plane and we all watched Hee Haw and The Waltons together. But after my grandma got sick the good times ended as Calvin became very cruel and cold. He became very sadistic especially after grandma became bedridden -- he ripped up her clothes, threw water in her face and sold her car. He would also get her father drunk in vain attempts to acquire the lake house -- I remember stopping at liquor stores to get beer.
It was a relief when grandma died on 19 November 1979 as she was finally away from Calvin's sadistic abuse.
I remember right before she died -- when she was comatose in the hospital -- I was told that I was too young to go back to her room to see her but grandad took me back there anyway. I think she died that night. I was staying with some family friends, the Helzers, because my mum was at the hospital with grandma. I called the hospital and a nurse told me that my grandma had died. The days leading up to the funeral were difficult -- grandad got drunk and ran my mum's car into a ditch on the way to the funeral home for the viewing. I also remember during the funeral seeing grandad crying, but I have never been sure if they were genuine tears of grief or not. I also remember him bending down and kissing grandma in her casket as we went past.
She was buried at Sunset Memorial Park near Barton, Arkansas where her grave is still unmarked while Calvin is buried in another part of the same cemetery with a very nice headstone!!!

One memory I have of my grandma is we all went to Memphis -- me, mum, and my grandparents -- and dropped my grandma off at the Memphis International Airport because she went somewhere, but I cannot remember where she went. But I do remember that my grandad was in a total rage about something and took it out on me when we were going back to West Helena. He was a very angry, abusive man but he hid it very well. So much so that I wanted to vomit whenever anyone would tell me what a great man he was!!! He also cheated on my grandma when she was bedridden before she died!!!

A while back I had a really bizarre memory -- so bizarre that I did not think it could possibly be a true memory. I was remembering a place that my grandad took me to and there were giant musical instruments that were walking around.
Well it turned out that I was remembering Opryland. In 1974 my grandparents took me on a road trip through Tennessee and up to Kentucky. I also found a video of Opryland in 1975 that opened up a couple of other memories I did not know I had. For example, I had only remembered my grandad being there but the video made me remember that my grandma and someone else was also there with us but as of yet I cannot remember who the other person was.
Whilst making my morning coffee this morning I had a memory of being in the kitchen with my grandma and we were making coffee. I helped her by putting the sugar cubes and saccharine tablets into the coffee cups. I would love to have more memories like that one!!!
So far I have almost 20 handwritten pages of things I have remembered and hopefully there will be more. There are a couple of other really bizarre memories I have that I would absolutely love to find out more about!!!
